3D Laser Scanning

High-Definition Surveying or 3D Laser Scanning by
Pinnacle Engineering provides an ultra-fast, highly
accurate alternative to traditional “as built” documentation.

Pinnacle Engineering uses latest-generation Leica HD3000
3D laser scanning technology
to capture and use high-
definition spatial datasets ("point clouds.") for detail and
engineering surveys. This “intelligent pixilization” is widely
applicable to civil, architectural, and facility projects,
particularly programs that involve interference detection
or the testing-out of proposed equipment configurations.

3D laser scanning or high-definition surveying
is useful as
well for insurance, archiving and other applications where
it’s desirable to preserve the staged history of a project –
whether work cell renovation or archaeological dig – in a
precise and highly defined way.
.
The advanced capabilities of Pinnacle’s 3D laser scanning
system include 360º horizontal field-of-view (FOV), 270º
vertical FOV, and a high-resolution, internal color camera
that enables calibrated image overlays of the scanned scene.
For a full 360° x 270° scan, the images alone represent >100
mega pixels of spatially rectified, true-color image data.

3D laser scanning or high definition surveying accuracy is
6mm at 50m; 1.5mm for extracted targets. The fast maximum
scan rate (80% faster than predecessor technologies)
facilitates exceptional productivity particularly for fast-track
programs. 3D laser scanning or high definition surveying
resolution is not compromised when surveyed objects move,
so scanning can be performed without interrupting operations.

Pinnacle’s laser camera captures 1800 intelligence points
per second with full X-Y axis and elevation,
creating a cloud
mold that is all-inclusive. The subject can be as close as
12 inches – or as far as 300 ft. distant.

Pinnacle Engineering offers advanced tools, and some
of the most capable engineers in the field, for effectively
evolving 2D information into a 3D CAD world. High-definition
surveying –
3D laser scanning – Pinnacle produces
powerful desktop visualization, and allows users to
navigate, and to inspect areas of interest, with ease.
